What is Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC)?

PHEC is specialist training for those who may need to provide life-saving care before an ambulance or hospital team arrives. It bridges the gap between standard workplace first aid and advanced medical care

PHEC courses are ideal for the following:

- Fire and Rescue Personnel (Private)

PHEC Courses follow recognised pre-hospital frameworks and cover topics like:

Where does it fit?

To make it easy to understand, think of training levels like this:

Level B - EFAW / FAW

Level C - First Responder [Nationally Certified non healthcare professional pre-hospital] - Providing care as a secondary role

Level D - Enhanced Community First Responder [[Nationally Certified non healthcare professional pre-hospital] - Providing care as a secondary role

Level E - Specialist Training [Nationally Certified non healthcare professional pre-hospital] - Providing care as a primary role

First Responder on Scene

(FROS) - Level C

5 Days

The First Responder on Scene (FROS) qualification prepares you to respond to a range of emergency situations before the arrival of the ambulance. You’ll learn how to manage incidents, assess casualties, and provide lifesaving interventions including trauma care and airway management. It’s ideal for high-risk workplaces, security staff, event medics, and those needing advanced first aid skills.

First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC3) - Level D

5 Days

The FREC 3 qualification provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to medical emergencies in high-pressure environments. Covering trauma, airway management, patient assessment, and more, it meets the requirements for those working in pre-hospital care roles. It’s ideal for event medics, security staff, close protection officers, and those progressing towards ambulance service careers.
